Nissan has already released the 2012 Nissan Tiida in the Chinese Market. It is available in two model variants; the Nissan Tiida and the Nissan Tiida GTS. These models are designed to be more attractive to younger buyers and should also bring in some hot hatchback customers as well.

The 2012 Nissan Tiida will be using the same 1.6L engine as the current model. It will however be producing 125 bhp and 114 lb/ft of torque. That is an increase of 15 bhp and 1 lb/ft over the current model. Its equipped with either a 5-speed manual or XTRONIC CVT. The manual transmission setup will accelerate the car from 0-100km/h in 11.9s, use 6.4 L/100km (44.1 mpg) and has a top speed of 184 km/h (115 mph). That is better than the current model which uses 6.9 L/100km (40.9 mpg). The CVT will run from 0-100km/h in 11.7s and use 6.2 L/100km (45.6 mpg), however the top speed is limited to 175 km/h (109 mph). The car also sports a fully redesigned exterior with new features such as HID headlights and LED rear lights.

The 2012 Nissan Tiida will compete with other compact hatchbacks like the Peugeot 308, Suzuki SX4 and Subaru Impreza. There are several other brands that offer compact hatchbacks, however they are not stock order cars for the new car dealers in Jamaica. The 2012 Tiida will be one of the youngest car in this group with some of the cars expected to change shape in the next year or two.

If however this model is too pedestrian for you. Then there is a faster model. The 2012 Nissan Tiida GTS uses the same 1.6 DIG Turbo engine found in the Nissan Juke. It produces 188 bhp and 177 lb/ft of torque. It will be available with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed XTRONIC CVT. The manual will sprint from 0-100km/h in 8.2, use 7.8 L/100km (36.2 mpg) and have a top speed of 220 km/h (137 mph). The CVT model will have a 0-100km/h in 8.3s, use the same 7.8 L/100km and be limited to a top speed of 205 km/h (128 mph).

The Tiida GTS will compete with the likes of the BMW 1-series, Audi A3, Peugeot 308 GT, Volkswagen Golf GTI, Subaru Impreza WRX, Hyundai Veloster and the Mini Cooper S. The Tiida GTS will not be the fastest in its class but should have a good combination of looks, performance, fuel economy, features and price. Only the Hyundai Veloster could offer the same package and be less expensive, it will however be slower than the Tiida GTS.

The 2012 Tiida and Tiida GTS should be introduced later this year or by early next year. Please contact Fidelity Motors for more details. For more information about the car itself please see the specifications and model information below.
