Warranty Direct followed all the rules in conducting a proper survey bu using 50,000 consumers. That would be approx. 10% of the entire car population in Jamaica. This survey would include a greater ratio of diesel engine to petrol engines than we would have in Jamaica.

However the survey clearly states that Honda has the most reliable engines around with less than half the failure rate of Toyota who holds a solid second place.

It is interesting to note that 5 premium brands are included in the top 10 list. Premium brands are normally viewed as problematic and expensive. The survey highlights why consumers should feel confident buying from the listed premium brands.

This is good news for consumers that are trying to make wise purchases but do not want to be stuck with just economy and executive brands from the Japanese and Korean markets. The European market represents 50% of the top 10 list.
